Three hundred years ago, the shores of Lake Bibo were engulfed in chaos—lightning cracked the sky as demons rose in rebellion. Amid the turmoil, a wolf demon, snake demon, bat spirit, and the Spider Brothers were sealed away, but the cunning Spider Sister narrowly escaped. In the aftermath, the goddess Guanyin descended on a cloud, striking down the demon’s head into the depths of the lake. She bestowed three golden scales upon a red fish spirit refined in the lake and charged her celestial guardian with protecting the land.

Centuries later, during the peaceful era of the Great Song dynasty, a young scholar named Li An, having secretly withdrawn from the imperial exams despite his success, sets off on a journey home to reunite with his mother. While passing Lake Bibo, he encounters a mysterious poem written by the red fish and frees her from Guanyin’s sacred seat—unwittingly sparking a fateful bond.

Drawn together by destiny, Li An and the red fish spirit must face ancient prophecies, forbidden love, and the return of three sealed demons. Thus begins a tale of magic, sacrifice, and the deep secrets hidden beneath the still waters of Bibo Lake.
