Tawan lives as a servant with her aunt-in-law Yuanjai and cousin Yadfa. Years ago, Yhod, Tawan’s uncle, promised his friend Trong that their children would marry. But Yadfa refuses, believing Tomorn, Trong’s son, is poor and uncultured—and already involved with Bunlaeng. While they live off Yuanjai’s money, Tomorn helps pay her debt. In return, Yuanjai sends Tawan to marry him, pretending to be Yadfa.
