Ichiki Kurumi, a 25-year-old with a natural talent for cooking, returns to Japan after spending time in France and works as a waitress at a prestigious traditional restaurant. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Ato Ichiro and his executive secretary, Koga Seiji, decide to hire a personal chef for the Prime Minister's residence for the first time in 70 years. After a chance encounter, Seiji recognizes Kurumi's gift and invites her to take the role. Though hesitant at first, she accepts—but soon finds herself facing challenges and tension from the existing kitchen staff as she tries to prove herself in this high-pressure, elite environment.
