King Phrommathat, his wife Suwanampha, and their son Laksanawong journey into the forest, where they encounter Apsorn, a giantess disguised as a beautiful woman. Enchanted by her, the king falls under her spell and orders the execution of his queen and son. But the executioner, moved by mercy, secretly spares them.

Suwanampha is later captured by Phraya Yak, or King Wirunmat, while Laksanawong is rescued and raised by Thipkesorn, the lady of the water lily. Under her guidance, he grows into a wise and capable young man. When he comes of age, Laksanawong sets out on a quest to find his mother and seek justice for the betrayal they endured.
