On the way from the mountains to Chiang Mai, Captain Phasut and his wife Namping die in a car accident. Their six-year-old son, Tawan, wasn’t with them and survives.

Khunkhao, Namping’s brother and owner of a coffee estate, is devastated but quickly handles the funeral. There, Thofah—Phasut’s sister—arrives to take Tawan to Bangkok on behalf of his grandfather, Athit. But Khunkhao refuses to hand the boy over to relatives he's never met. Thofah, however, is determined to bring Tawan home with her, no matter what.
