Thiu faces deep loss—first his mother dies, then Nam-Oi, the buffalo he loved like family. Grief leaves him feeling alone. But things begin to change when he starts caring for Thui, Nam-Oi’s orphaned calf, and finds comfort from a kind monk. Slowly, Thiu begins to heal.

He then meets Nuengruethai, a gentle woman who brings warmth into his life. But their bond sparks jealousy in her fiancé, Suradet, who steals and sells Thui. To bring the calf home, Thiu must race the unbeaten champion, Jao Ruay, in a daring buffalo race.
